The history exam is just a few days away and the students are getting tense. There is so much theory to learn and there are so many dates to remember. Can they finish the curriculum in time, and even if they did, would they be able to remember it at the exam. These are frightening thoughts for the students and they are just itching for some tips that can ease their anxiety.

Study the important chapters first
The students should first make a list of what all the important chapters in the textbook are. If they have gone through the curriculum, and if they have sat for all the classes then they should know what are all the important topics and which ones are not. They should study these first because chances are that most of the questions will come from these chapters. You can also prepare various assignments related to different topics in a creative manner and study them. If you find assignment writing difficult, you can take assistance from qualified writers.

Make a list of all the dates and events
History is full of dates and events, and students often struggle to remember these. The best thing is for them to note these down in a separate section in their study book and practise remembering them. They should devote some time every day for memorizing the dates and events. Doing them all in one day is quite an impossible task. That is why it should be done over a period of time.

Practise with your own questions
There are many practise question papers available in the market and no doubt the students will be practising these. However, another good idea is to makeup self-questions and finds answers to them. This way one will get thorough the curriculum and remember all that one has studied.

Don’t just read history, visualize it
History can be a boring subject if you just read it like any other subject. What the students should do is to study it like a story. After all we never forget stories. We remember them for life. The students should imagine the battles in their head. They should give faces to the heroes and kings that they read in their books. They should mentally live in the castles and forts that existed in ancient times. History should come alive in their imagination. It should not just be a subject that has to be completed before the exams. It should be a living, breathing spectacle that has to be enjoyed.

Study it throughout the year
History is not a subject that can be studied at the last moment. It has to be studied every day. That is why the preparation should begin at the start of the year itself. The students should study the curriculum little bit at a time. This way it will be enjoyable and they will not feel overburdened.

Refer movies on the topics they are studying
Finally, there have been many movies made on history. The students can watch the movies if they want to add some pictures to the words they are reading. This will also make the subject less of a burden and more of an adventure.
