Online Learning: A New Era in Education in India

Education in India is not limited to the classroom anymore. Fresh start-ups and greater Internet and smartphone access have prompted the online education industry in India. Online learning space in India is growing at a massive pace. The e-learning sector in India is estimated by online media experts to be around USD 3 billion. The Central government also makes efforts to ensure digital learning is available for students aiding the sector. Online training in Indian education system is available at both school and college level. Convenience-based training is yet another benefit of online education in India. ​

Some online learning companies in India are looking to generate content while others are more comfortable offering the aggregator role. Companies blend classes using online and offline learning with self-paced courses, where the learner can acquire knowledge at their desired speed. Portals have used from India all over the different parts of the country. Certification courses in IT, management, and human resources are extremely popular.  Corporate training education has also received a boost through online learning and its expansion in India.
The Numbers
According to studies, India has the largest number of students enrolling in online courses. Of 1.2 million worldwide, around 15 percent or 155000 students are from the country.  Skills in numerous domains and courses like MBA, Digital Marketing and MCA can be taken online. Online education provides reachability and flexibility. For example, students in the isolated hinterland of the country can access world class education through online training programs. These programs also provide students with a lot of flexibility- the convenience of anytime learning cannot be denied.
Conclusion
Online education is the future of the Indian educational system.With growing avenues for e-learning and options for online training courses on the rise, online education is booming in India.
