The growth of technology, regular use of digital materials and the varying needs of today’s learners have made a traditional classroom teaching less efficient and effective. To fulfill the needs of the modern learners and to make classroom teaching approach more effective, most of the schools and colleges have now adopted Learning Management Systems (LMS). This is a software application allowing teachers to realise different pedagogical models, deliver personalised learning, engage and connect students from different places.
Let’s check the advantages a traditional learning environment can avail from Learning Management System.

LMS helps different groups of students to study independently.
With an LMS schools and colleges can upgrade into a digital format and thus save many school resources teachers are used to including a school board, departments, teachers, classes, students. Applying this system, independent teachers can manage many classes with different curriculums, scoring, attendance tracking, assessments, reports, systems of communication and parents’ involvement. Teachers get wider opportunities, including a chance to teach students worldwide.
LMS allows teachers to provide a personalised approach to each student
It is quite difficult for teachers to meet the various needs of individual students. An LMS helps teachers to provide student-centered learning primarily focusing on students’ needs and equal opportunities for everyone. With a system of LMS learning paths and availability of variety of content formats, a teacher can provide an exclusive, customised learning experience, which cannot be achieved in a traditional classroom learning.
LMS helps teachers to increase students’ involvement and collaboration
Students with low self-esteem find it very difficult to adjust in a classroom with their fellow mates. Low self-esteem and shyness restricts a student from an active participation and involvement in the classroom activities. However, students can easily overcome these obstacles in the online learning environment as it facilitates them express their thoughts without any fear through communication tools like chat, a forum, social communities, blogs, wikis etc.

It helps to build better parent-teacher-student relationships. Also, can say it is effective parents’ involvement with students’ learning.
